«Roshimreaktiv» Discussed Personnel for the Chemical Industry at «Technoprom-2025»
The «Roshimreaktiv» Association continues to work on one of the key problems of the modern chemical industry – the lack of specialists.
The event actively discussed current issues of the chemical industry’s development related to the national project «New Materials and Chemistry», including achieving technological sovereignty and providing personnel for chemical enterprises.
On August 29, a panel discussion «Personnel for Chemistry: Effectiveness of Programs and State Support Measures within the Personnel Policy of Industrial Enterprises» was held, moderated by Alina Rybina, Advisor to the Russian Union of Chemists.
One of the main topics of the discussion was the formation of new approaches to training specialists capable of meeting the demands of the modern knowledge economy. The integration of scientific research, industrial production, and the educational system is of particular importance.
One of the speakers was Irina Vendilo, General Director of the «Roshimreaktiv» Association. She spoke about the nature and complexity of the personnel demand in high-tech low- and medium-tonnage chemistry companies:
«I would like to note that for high-tech enterprises, the practice that students receive in the process of learning chemistry is as important as theory. We conducted surveys, and 54% of employers in the low- and medium-tonnage chemistry sector noted that they sorely lack practical knowledge among graduates. And 49% also noted the importance of theory and that graduates lack the fundamental theoretical knowledge that provides them with stability in interacting within the scientific community and in responding to the challenges posed by research work.
The so-called soft skills for students are also incredibly important. First of all, I advise you, dear students, to develop the ability to work in a team, self-presentation skills, and a broad understanding of economics, finance, and marketing in the chemical industry. These are necessary qualities precisely for high-tech enterprises, where your path from a young specialist to a manager is generally shorter than in large enterprises. The combination of theoretical knowledge, practice gained during training, and soft skills makes you the most in-demand and highly paid specialist in a high-tech industry – a project manager.»
At the discussion, colleagues also discussed key challenges in providing the chemical industry with qualified specialists, assessed the effectiveness of existing support programs, and developed proposals for the state, business, and educational organizations.
In conclusion, it is important to note that the international forum «Technoprom-2025» managed to unite the efforts of all stakeholders to promote advanced technologies and develop solutions that contribute to the country’s sustainable development. Organized through the efforts of relevant ministries, regional authorities, and business communities, the forum demonstrates the unity of efforts between the state and the private sector aimed at strengthening Russia’s position in the global scientific space.
The forum gathered a record number of participants: 19,369 people attended in person. Including online connections – about 27,000. Participants included representatives from 71 regions of the Russian Federation and 32 foreign countries. A total of over 200 events were organized: conferences, round tables, master classes, presentations of innovative developments and projects.
The innovation exhibition, which featured 47 thematic stands demonstrating the achievements of Russian and world science and technology, attracted special attention.
The next meeting within the forum is scheduled for next year. Stay tuned for news!
