Analitika Expo 2020: Business Face-to-Face After Isolation
On September 25, the 18th International Exhibition of Laboratory Equipment and Chemical Reagents «Analitika Expo 2020» concluded its work. This largest event in Russia dedicated to the analytical chemistry industry was long-awaited – the exhibition was supposed to take place in April but was postponed to autumn due to quarantine measures introduced because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the second year, «Analitika Expo» was held at a new, more spacious venue – the «Crocus Expo» IEC. The exhibition worked for three days and, despite the threat of a new surge of the epidemic, managed to gather over 100 Russian and foreign companies. Exhibitors demonstrated the latest developments in the field of analytical chemistry, laboratory technologies, equipment, and materials.
The «Roshimreaktiv» Association organized its exposition in the format of a collective stand. It featured novelties and best samples of medium- and low-tonnage chemical products and laboratory equipment from such well-known enterprises and research centers as «Industrial Environmental Laboratories» LLC, NRC «Kurchatov Institute» – IREA, «EKOS-1» JSC, SC «Low-Tonnage Chemistry», and other member companies of the Association. As noted by the specialists working at the collective stand, this time at the exhibition, representatives of research laboratories and universities predominated among the visitors. Laboratory equipment and sets of chemical reagents were in high demand.
The exhibition’s work was complemented by a business program, which included 16 conferences, seminars, round tables, and presentations. The business program was opened by the seminar «Metrological Support of Analytical and Testing Laboratories» organized by «Roshimreaktiv», where specialists from FBU «Rostest-Moscow» addressed the most pressing issues related to calibration and verification procedures for measuring instruments.
On September 22, as part of the business program, an event dedicated to the future of the Russian low-tonnage chemistry industry was held – the «Round Table on the Development of Qualifications and Personnel Potential of the Low-Tonnage Chemical Industry». This time, the focus of the participants’ discussion was not on chemical raw materials and technological equipment, but on the chemists themselves – the most important element without which no further development of the industry is possible. Irina Vendilo, General Director of «Roshimreaktiv», was one of the speakers at the event. The round table was also attended by Maria Ivanova, First Vice-President of the Russian Union of Chemists; Valentina Timofeeva, Director of the COC «Professional»; Alexander Zhidkov, Director of the International Mendeleev Academy; Elena Vasneva, HR representative of «Pigment» PJSC; Vitaly Fedorov, General Director of NIAC «Technovek».
Traditionally, the award ceremony for the quality mark «For Ensuring High Accuracy of Measurements in Analytical Chemistry» was held at the exhibition for companies whose products passed the examination by specialists from FBU «Rostest-Moscow». This year, the quality marks were awarded to:
