Round table in Volgograd
In Volgograd there was a round table “Interaction of chemical science and business”
On September 28, 2011, within the framework of the “XIX Mendeleev Congress on General and Applied Chemistry” (section of Professor S.V. Golubkov), a round table discussion “Interaction of Chemical Science and Business” was held, which discussed the most important issues of the development of Russian petrochemistry and small-scale chemistry. Assistance in organizing the round table was provided by NP ROSHIMREACTIV and FSUE IREA.
In one day, a large number of reports were announced at the Round Table, and among the speakers there were representatives from Volgograd, Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as foreign guests.
The first report was devoted directly to the prospects for the development of Russian petrochemicals. General Director of LLC “Nikokhim” – the managing organization of OJSC “Caustic” E.E. Azizov voiced his own comparative analysis of the global and Russian petrochemical industries, on the basis of which, according to the speaker, it is possible to formulate the main tasks facing the petrochemical industry of the Russian Federation. These include, first of all, the construction of modern high-tech petrochemical complexes of large unit capacity, the solution of the problem of providing petrochemical projects with a raw material component, the organization of an investment assessment center, the reform of the legislative and regulatory framework, as well as the optimization of the layout of new petrochemical plants taking into account logistics.
The problems identified above raised a large number of questions, accompanied by a lengthy discussion. An active discussion allowed us to express our own opinion on possible ways to solve the problems of the petrochemical industry in the Russian Federation to all participants in the Round Table.
Subsequent speech by V.V. Carpets were devoted to polymer pipes and composites in terms of determining their direction of development of the assortment of base polymers. V.V. Kovriga spoke about the production of pipes, fittings and composites, as well as about the possibilities of obtaining engineering plastics with a given set of consumer and technological properties.
Next, the General Director of OAO Giprosintez F.P. Sokolov presented to the audience a report on the topic: “Safety of chemical-technological production facilities.” The performance was accompanied by impressive illustrations that clearly demonstrate the destruction of the environment caused by technological disasters, in particular accidents at chemical enterprises.
The first section of the Roundtable was completed by Dr. J. Cowlen, representative of LANXESS, one of the largest enterprises in the field of production of polymers, intermediates and chemicals. J. Caulen spoke about the achievements of his company and expressed hope for cooperation with Russian specialists.
The second part of the round table was devoted to the most important issues of small-tonnage chemistry. Within the framework of this part of the event, the problems of transporting dangerous goods by rail, the problems of labor protection at chemical enterprises, the main issues of quality management of small-scale chemistry products and the problems of analytical control of chemical reagents were discussed.
In the first after the break, the speech of the head of the laboratory of FSUE “IREA” A.A. Fakeeva, the state of production of highly pure substances in Russia was examined, a comparison was made of the production base of 1990. and 2001, and also considered in detail the nomenclature of products of small-tonnage chemistry. Alexander Andreyevich presented several tables, thanks to which each participant could independently track the changes in the production of small-tonnage chemistry that occurred after the collapse of the USSR.
The head of the reference nanolaboratory of MGUPP K.I. Popov spoke about the products of small-tonnage chemistry, in which the food sector of the Russian Federation is currently in short supply. Konstantin Ivanovich made a special emphasis on the problem of excessive import of vitamin substances and the lack of sufficient production of vitamins in the Russian Federation.
Further, a report on the topic: “Improving the OSH management system at hazardous facilities” was made by the head of the Industrial Safety Specialist Training Department V. Ulyanov In his speech, potential environmental risks that occurred during the transport of dangerous goods were announced, an analysis of scientific and technical documentation governing the process of transporting dangerous goods by rail, and methods were proposed for the proper training and certification of personnel of industrial enterprises.
Then, in a speech by D.V. ECOS-1, a leading specialist Sevastyanova raised one of the most currently discussed issues related to the production of chemical products – the planned cancellation of licensing of the operation of chemically hazardous production facilities. The speaker spoke about the disadvantages of this initiative, summarizing his arguments with a proposal for a further thorough discussion of such a decision.
The round table ended with a report by the head of IL Reaktiv FG
